The hour had grown very late, the clocks hands had struck midnight a while back. But the night was a great one, stars visible in the sky with the moon hanging high among them. It was a warm and silent kind of night. Perfect for a romantic night between lovers.
Kori had been walking most of the day, trying to make sense of where he was. He still hadn't managed to figure out exactly where. And so long after the sun was chased beyond the horizon by the moon, he stopped and rested. He has always liked parks, they're a place of happiness of fond memories, for the most part anyway.
After a leisurely walk around most of the park, and the surrounding area. He found a nice tree and jumped up onto a semi low branch. He balanced himself against the tree and thought about what he was going to do about his current situation. After a good time had passed he began to doze, and eventually gave into sleep's deep grasp.
He hadn't been asleep even an hour before he was awoken by a women's terrified scream. Kori bolted upright, wide awake in under half a second. He looked around in search of the women in trouble, he found her running in his direction from a very big man. The man seemed to be slowly gaining on her and she seemed to be tiering. There was only about eight feet between them.
He had a brief moment to wonder why trouble always found him, but that was cut short when the women ran under the tree he was sitting in. She didn't see him and neither did the big man. Kori dropped from the tree landing right in front of the big man.
The man was taller than him by at least four inches, he was much broader and had much more muscle. But that didn't even the big man's odds at all. Kori sensed the women staring at him, probably worrying that he would get hurt trying to help help her.
"You have five seconds," he warned the big man.
But the man didn't take that as a serious warning, after all, why should he. Instead of running he pulled his fist back a struck out at Kori's face. His fist was stopped short by Kori's hand, which then crushed the man's hand. Shattering all but a couple of bones.
The man screamed in pain and surprised and the women nearly fainted. Kori kept the same calm expression and relaxed posture. The man fell to the ground and clutched his useless hand and looked up at Kori with terrified eyes. He then shuffled to his feet and ran away in fear for his life.
The women started to thank Kori, but he just smiled, a very charming smile, and walked away. He came to a stop not too far from where he was. He sat against a different tree and looked to the sky.
She might've died tonight he thought to himself. Then he just sat there listening to the night
