Rei has the physic of your average teenage girl, though she's very fit from the various activities she performs while around the Hikawa Shrine and her duties as a sailor senshi. She stands at about 5'4", slightly taller than some friends while shorter than others, and has a curvy-figure that she prefers to keep to herself. Her straight, hip-length hair is black with natural dark-blue highlighting in the sun. Her eyes are a lovely shade of deep purple. She generally dresses in the latest fashions or her priestess robes, whichever works at the time.
Personality:
Rei isn't as hot-tempered as people have believed her to be. She is rather calm and rational about things, but she is definitely no Ami! She has a strong dislike for men for she finds that she doesn't entirely have a reason to be around them and finds her companionship in her friends as well as knowing her duty to protect the Princess, which she puts before everything else. She is a good friend and though she can be harsh at times, she only does what she believes is right for the situation.

Her mini-skirt is red along with her back bow, which has ribbons that flow down to about her knees. Her sailor collar is red with a single white stripe. Her front bow is a dark purple and the brooch in the center is a red heart. Her neck choker is red with a yellow star in the center and inside the star is a red gem. Her earrings are red stars. Her tiara is the usual golden tiara and holds a red gem in the center. Her gloves come up to her elbows and have two red pads around the elbow area. Her shoes are red high heels.

An attack that Rei can use in her civilian form or her senshi form. It requires -evil scrolls from her temple. She holds the scroll and yells, "Rin, pyou, tou, sha, kai, jin, retsu, sai, zen. Akuryou Taisan!" This is often used to stop her opponent in their tracks and buy the senshi enough time to perform an attack. It can destroy weaker enemies, such as low-class demons.
Fire Soul -
Bringing her hands together and pointing her pointer fingers out, she focuses her energy into her fingers and calls out her attack, releasing a stream of fire from her fingers toward her opponent.
Mars Flame Sniper -
Calling upon her inner power, flames begin to form and take the shape of a bow. She forms an arrow in her other hand and pulls the 'string' back, aiming at her enemy. She calls out her attack as she releases the flaming arrow toward her opponent.

Sailor Mars was born with one purpose; to defend the Princess of the Moon, who was the heiress to the throne of the Moon Kingdom. She spent her youth in the PhobosDeimos Castle until she came to an age that she would be able to live without the aid of her parents. So around the age of seven, she was sent to the Moon Kingdom to take her place as guardian to the Princess.
Much of her history is unknown during this time, but what is known is that in the end, she died protecting Princess Serenity.
20th Century -
Hino Rei was born on the 17th of April to a politician and a house-wife. She grew up as a very lonely child as her mother died when she was very young from a weak heart. Her father spent his time with his work and soon, completely sent her off to live with her grandfather at the Hikawa Shrine.
From a young age, she was trained to be a priestess of the shrine. She became in touch with her inner self, learned the various anti-evil spells, learned to read fire, and other various things a shrine maiden needed to learn. She grew cold to the rest of the world since she felt isolated having had grown up in the shrine.
When it was time for junior high to roll around, she was sent to T*A Girls Academy. She wasn't very sociable and she was often thought of as weird because of her occupation as a shrine priestess. However, it was because of her position as the priestess of the Hikawa Shrine that led her to meet the one girl who she was destined to protect; Tsukino Usagi.
Sendai Hill was being plagued by odd bus disappearances and Rei was looking into it on her own while Usagi and Mizuno Ami, as senshi, were trying to solve the case. Rei and her grandfather had often been blamed for the disappearances and Rei was becoming angered at the false accusations. However, the demon soon showed itself and Rei followed Usagi into the odd portal to a world where those who disappeared were taken. She discovered herself as Sailor Mars and helped to defeat the demon.
At first, Rei was very hesitant about becoming a senshi, and even more hesitant about becoming Tsukino Usagi's friend... But through the peristance of the blonde, Rei could not help but soon become close friends with the girl.
As their memories of the past were restored, this brought Rei closer to Usagi as well as reminded her of her mission. She would protect the Princess always.
She did not play too major of a part in the Black Moon, Death Busters, and Dead Moon Circus times, but she tried her very hardest to fight against the evil of Sailor Galaxia and Chaos until the very end, when she, too, was killed. When the revival came, she woke with the rest of her friends and they continued on with their lives.
Rei still devotes herself to protecting Usagi with her life, as a friend and as a soldier.
Roleplaying Example:
The moon shone in the sky, telling the time of midnight, and the girl inside the shrine simply could not rest. There was something ill in the air and she could not seem to figure out the origins. She sat in front of the fire, chanting softly to herself while moving her hands in sync to make the appropriate prayer. However, each time she finished and looked into the fire, she was hit with disappointment as she saw only the same thing she had been seeing for the past few hours. A dark figure would show and a flash of odd light, but nothing more.
A sigh escaped her painted lips as she rose to her feet, the blood rushing through her legs. She took a few wobbly steps before she was able to completely regain her balance and leave the room. She walked until she came upon the door to the shrine and slid it open, taking a step out into the cool night. She could feel the breeze blow through her hair and hear it rustle through the trees. It was a nice night, even though the ill feeling still hung over her. She wanted nothing more than to crawl into her futon and sleep for at least a couple of hours, but it seemed nearly impossible when she thought about it.

The memories of the past were burned into her mind and the moon was a constant reminder of the past she had once lived and the future she would be fighting for. All in the name of the precious moon. Though she was the soldier of the planet Mars, she could not help but feel that she was a soldier of the moon and fought for its sake rather than the sake of her own planet. Even more so, she felt that she was a guardian of the planet earth which she lived on. Mars was simply a title she had been given... Did the planets even have any symbolism rather than just to be given an element and a soldier bearing their name?
A yawn passed through her lips and she blinked a couple of times. It was definitely time for bed... But she wondered if she would sleep that night... Only time would tell. She tore her eyes from the sky and turned back to the shrine, making her way inside and shutting the door. Her feet guided her through the long hallways until she came upon her bedroom and she slid the door open, her eyes landing on the futon in the corner. She felt as if it were calling her name.
She stripped of her priestess robes and slipped on a simple spaghetti strap red silk tanktop and matching pants before sliding into bed, her head hitting the pillow. Her eyes slid closed and the sleep that she thought was impossible fell over her.
Hino Rei was troubled with nightmares of evil that night... An evil that she knew was silently brewing...
