Hotaru has quite grown since the tender age of fifteen. As she is rapidly approaching the end of her childhood, her vertical growing had decreased to the point where if she does grow taller, it is hardly noticable. She stands at about 5'1" and her features have taken more shape, becoming less round than they had been before. Her deep purple eyes have taken on a more mature tone to them from age and experience. Her black hair, with hints of purple, falls just past her shoulders, having grown a bit longer from her youth. Her nails are often painted a light or medium purple to compliment to colors of her senshi form. She wears a cross necklace given to her by Setsuna and a silver ring on her right finger that had been given to her by Haruka in her younger years as well as various pairs of earrings Michiru gave her.
Personality:
As the years have past, Hotaru has become more and more of a woman. The years she has faced life as a soldier have hardened her, but she still retains some of what makes her a child. As a civilian, she is kind and friendly toward others, despite being a bit shy around those she has not met before. As a soldier, however, she holds a bit of a cold air and isn't afraid to threaten. She's still learning what it means to be an adult, but she's much more mature than she had been in her youth.

She has the knee-boots that are laced up the entire way. Her fuku has the short purple skirt with the burgundy ribbon in the back and on the front. She has a purple heart in the middle of her bow and she has a purple collar. Her shoulders are the two layer wing like things which look really neat and her gloves have a little extra part which sticks out. Her chocker has a star and her earrings are little Saturns (complete with rings) and a crystal dangling down. To top off the essamble is the tradtional tiara with a light purple (almost white) crystal. You certainly can't forget the Silence Glaive to finish it off.

Sailor Saturn holds her glaive in front of her and uses this power in order to create a barrier that she holds up. It's effective for protecting herself and others from harm.

Sailor Saturn raises her glaive in the air and spins it once before calling out her attack name. She then brings her glaive down and a blast of energy thrusts forward toward her opponent(s).
Death Reborn Revolution
A very powerful attack that can render Sailor Saturn very weak for quite some time after it is used. Ribbons surround her, protecting her from harm for a period of time, while she slashes in quick succession at her opponent(s).

Hotaru first appears in the manga hunched over in pain. Chibi Usa runs to help her, and a monster attacks. Sailormoon and Chibimoon defeat the monster and Hotaru recognizes her as Chibi Usa, much to Sailormoon's surprise. Chibi Usa had gotten a scratch and Hotaru heals it with her strange power.
When she gets home she has a coughing fit and Kaolinite tries to help her up and she freaks out. Her father, Professor Tomoe, comes into her room and gives her an amulet which makes her feel better. Later Chibi Usa finds her again and Hotaru asks her over for tea where Chibi Usa sees all of her awesome lamps. She has an attack and Chibi Usa shows her the Silver Crystal and Hotaru suddenly longs for it. Michiru and Haruka arrive in a helicopter and take Chibi Usa away.
Later Chibi Usa decides to give Hotaru a chalice she had made with Mamoru and Usagi, since all of her other friends were giving their project to someone special. Hotaru falls and some really mean girls from the private school come over and start harassing her. She picks up her pencil box and with a cold rage smashes it in her fist. The girls back off, shocked.
It was raining when Chibi Usa decides to leave for Hotaru's house. Usagi makes an excuse to go with her and Hotaru has another attack while they are at her house. She reaches up to steal Chibi Usa's crystal, but stops herself. Usagi sees a monster in Professor Tomoe's lab and gets Chibi Usa to leave.
With the appearance of Sailorpluto, the Senshi do some research and find that Hotaru's mother died in a fire caused by Professor Tomoe. Chibi Usa calls and then goes over to her house, but she sees her through the window with no sleeves on and it turns out that her body is made up of biomechanical parts. Hotaru tries to run after her, but Chibi Usa is gone. She starts to cry and the other outers appear in front of her window in normal clothes. She throws her amulet at them and starts to cry.
Well the Holy Chalice is formed and at the same time, Hotaru starts transforming into Mistress 9.
The outers explain that Hotaru is vessel where Sailorsaturn sleeps, and that she was never suppose to awaken, but because of the fire incident, she was stirred. When she appears, she will destroy the Earth, as she had in the past, on the moon. The only way to guarantee that this will not happen, is by killing Hotaru.
Chibimoon runs to Hotaru, but she reaches up and steals her crystal, and completely transforms into Mistress 9. Even though Mistress 9 is dominant, a little bit Hotaru remains. Professor Tomoe becomes a monster and Sailormoon kills him. Hotaru, remembering him before the evil times, says good-bye. Mistress 9 eats the crystal and is going to give it to Pharaoh 90, but Hotaru stops her. She later attacks the Senshi and gets the crystals of the 4 Inners, but Hotaru gathers them up, despite the great pain in causes her, and returns them to their owners, which brings Chibi Usa back to life.
Sailormoon destroys Mistress 9 but a great void still looms in the sky (actually its the Tau system). She starts to fall out of the sky and the talismans start to glow, and Sailorsaturn appears. She explains that a series of accidents caused her to be awoken and then she proceeds to destroy the void by bringing down her Glaive. (Whether this is part of Death Reborn Revolution is a matter of debate and I will take a neutral stand on it and say maybe it is.) She tells Pluto to shut the time gate and starts the process of destruction. Sailormoon becomes Neo-Queen Serenity and with the power of the chalice, starts the healing process and everything starts to repair itself.
Then there is a sound to which the outers run and find that Hotaru has been reincarnated. They decide to take the child and raise her.
Well, little did Setsuna, Michiru, and Haruka know what trouble they were getting themselves into. Although she has grown quickly, she still has her terrible twos, but she is soooo cute. At this time, the outers lack powers and the inners are fighting the Black Moon Circus. A bunch of kids gather at the house for violin (or viola, I can't tell) lessons. When Hotaru starts playing, these two images of Chibi Usa and Pegasus appear, so Hotaru chases after them and her eyes become mist-covered as the images disappear.
That night the family is playing this universe game and things start to go wrong and they muse about why. Hotaru goes to take a bath and sees Saturn, but she gets in the tub and reads some poetry. When she gets out she has seriously aged and he then informs the other Outers about what has happened to Usagi and Mamoru and returns their Senshi powers. They go and fight, but Usagi and Mamoru get sick and go into chibi form. Saturn has taken Chibi Usa to the Amazoness Quartet, who they almost defeat, but their master beats them to the kill, and they are sealed in little balls. Saturn eventually grabs them, and, after Sailormoon wins, Saturn asks that she heal them. It turns out that they are the Quartet Senshi and Chibi Usa's protectors.
Things go pretty much back to normal and Hotaru starts attending Chibi Usa's school. Then the other outers (after the inners are killed by Galaxia's forces) go to their palaces on their planets to monitor the problems that they are experiencing. Hotaru is playing with Chibi Chibi when she senses danger and goes to Pluto's palace. She is killed there with Pluto and, in the end, returns with the other Senshi.
Roleplaying Example:
Haruka-papa and Michiru-mama had come to bid her a goodnight about three hours ago. Setsuna-mama had been out for quite some time and she assumed it was problems with the Time Gate that kept her away. However, this was not the reason that the solider of silence was still awake, staring up at the bright moon from her place on her window sill. It was large enough for her to sit on, which was what she was currently doing.
Orbs of deep purple gazed up at the sky, looking past the stars at the symbol of the Princess, both present and future. For many nights, now, Tomoe Hotaru had been feeling uneasy as she would dress for bed and often had a hard time falling asleep. Memories of her most recent premonition left her afraid to fall asleep... Why was she seeing such dark images?
Crystal Tokyo in ruins. Eternal Sailor Moon with broken wings, falling into an endless abyss. Sailor Chibimoon, eyes blank, in the middle of endless rubble...
These thoughts scared her. She remembered her premonitions two years ago, the ones she had of Eternal Sailor Moon before the second attack of Nehellenia. Sailor Moon had prevailed, yes... So maybe these were just warnings to say that failing was not an option.
"For the cause of a new world.... I will not hesitate to sacrifice this body." She whispered gently. She was not going to let the future fall to ruin. She would put her life on the line to destroy the Earth and let a new rebirth take it over before she would watch it lie in ruin... She would sacrifice her life for a better future, if needed... But what difference would it make? Sailor Saturn was only a sailor senshi of the Outer System... And one day, she would be a guardian of the new Sailor Moon... But never would she amount the anything more than that...
Her death would be easily looked over. She would not be grieved over, like Usagi or Chibiusa would. She wasn't that important...
With a heavy heart, Hotaru left the window and walked to her bed, her white, silk nightie brushing over her thin form as she slid into bed, pulling the blankets over her.
